The MTS Vehicle Dynamic Simulator (VDS) is a next-generation driving simulator designed by McLaren Applied Technologies. This innovative tool provides automotive manufacturers, related suppliers, and motorsport teams with a new form of vehicle development. VDS emerged from innovations in Formula One development, vehicle modeling, and simulation technology. VDS adopts a "Driver-In-the-Loop" approach, enabling engineers to subjectively evaluate components and vehicle performance before the completion of physical prototypes. VDS allows test drivers to conduct highly realistic driving tests in a low-latency environment, combining McLaren's proven high-performance electric motion platform with control algorithms integrated with rFpro graphics.
